Transforming Delhi: Work in Progress

Development of cycle tracks to encourage eco-friendly transportation. Re-construction of broken footpaths to ensure smooth pedestrian movement across the area. Designating emergency lanes on deserted roads to facilitate ambulance and disaster services. Addressing parking challenges through surveys to identify new parking spaces and convert them into functional parking lots. Beautification and upliftment of monuments like Agrasen ki Baoli and Jantar Mantar through partnerships with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

Establishing coffee and eatery shops in major parks like Nehru Park, Talkatora Garden, and Lodhi Garden to provide quality refreshments and enhance visitor experiences. Modernizing existing canteens, including Palika Kendra, and establishing new ones at key locations such as CPH-Moti Bagh to cater to patients, visitors, and employees

Shri Upadhyay is committed to achieving a 7-star ranking in the Swachh Survekshan by intensifying cleanliness initiatives across NDMC. This includes targeted programs in JJ clusters, awareness campaigns, and public engagement events to promote cleanliness and sustainability.

  • Shri Upadhyay aims to develop more Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) to conserve water and ensure every household, including JJ clusters, has access to clean water under the PM’s vision, “Har Ghar Nal Se Jal.”

The COVID-19 pandemic tested leaders worldwide, and Shri Upadhyay responded with unmatched dedication. Through his COVID Action Group, he distributed essential supplies like food, medicine, and oxygen to vulnerable communities.

What started as a small initiative quickly expanded into a large-scale operation, reaching areas beyond Delhi, including Ayodhya, Bhadohi, Dehradun, and more. The initiative grew as volunteers joined in, providing targeted aid to families affected by COVID.

Additionally, Shri Upadhyay supported children’s education, minimizing disruptions caused by the pandemic.
